GUH. This took soooo long. And in the middle of coloring it, the power at school went out Good thing I was doing this on my laptop, or I probably would have screamed about whatever I had lost since my last save.

Okay, before people are like ZOMGWHATTHEHELL?! This picture is dedicated to a fanfic that I've totally been nuts about for the last month, called "Somewhere in Between" by Rayne Storm (read it here [link] ), in which Katara is sort of forced into marrying Zuko-- and it's not for love. It's an incredible story. Anyway, I'm WELL aware Katara’s clothes are nothing like Ursa's clothes or any other Fire Nation's royalty, for that matter. Honestly, if Zuko did marry someone, and was Fire Lord, I HIGHLY doubt he would have given the said woman his mother's clothes and be like "Wear this!" No. Don't think so. And since Katara is there for political reasons only, I thought it would be fun to give her clothes her own flare. If you look at the construction, it's very similar to her outfit in the TV series, with a few Fire Nation traits. Oh the trim... GUH that took so long to color T3T

It's been a long time since I did a full-blown CG, and I must say I had a lot of fun with this. I'm still not completely happy with the background, but I at least attempted to do one! It's a start! And, yes, that was all drawn by hand. ALL OF IT.

Total time: Around 10 hours from start to finish.

Media: Copic Multiliner for inking on paper, colored in Photoshop elements (kept together with duct tape) switching between my WACOM Graphire 2 tablet and mouse.
