Here's another fanart based on the "Somewhere in Between" series (read at [link] ). This time, AJ Rayne asked me if I could perhaps play with a clothing change in Toph.

I've had the inks hanging around for a few weeks now, but tonight I put time aside to color this, because AJ Rayne's new chapter totally inspired me to finish this. I think we were thinking on the same wavelength XD

For this piece, I went about a different coloring technique, that I really like. It's based on 's style, who I totally envy XD Although it ended up being a kind of strange thing that looks nothing like Rans' stuff ^^; Ah well.

Total time: est. 4 hours

Media: Copic Multiliner for inking on paper, colored in Photoshop elements (kept together with duct tape) switching between my WACOM Graphire 2 tablet and mouse.

you have no idea how many times I redrew her because she simply did not have enough attitude. But I think I like this one out of the whole Avatar bunch that I've done, so I'm really happy that I spent so much time on it. Although the new chapter, with her wearing Fire Nation clothes with Earth Nation colors... I'm very tempted XD But it'll have to wait until after finals are over.

This one is amazing and your efforts were surely worth it. You managed to capture her personality so well with her stance. And her outfit is just love.

I'd love to see your take on the FN outfit...but only after you ace your finals, of course. ;)

It is a different shading style for you. It's more....how do I word this at 10 am? Geez. Ok. Here we go- Your normal shading I've seen is more subtle, this is bolder. Yes, that is what I am getting at.
Anyway, I like how you managed to keep it almost entirely an analagous color scheme.
